Railroad Gauntlet
Title
Railroad Gauntlet
Description
A railroad locomotive rounding a curve. In the foreground is a gauntlet track indicated by the second set of rails inside the outer rails. A gauntlet track is used where space is limited. Two sets of rails run parallel to each other on the same rail bed and using the same cross ties. This is sometimes used near bridges, tunnels or cuttings where the grading was cut to create the route.
