Description
Black and white photograph of check awarded to Elco employee, William Starnes, for his suggested modification to an EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining). According to a Rockford Register-Republic article from April 16, 1971, "Stearns,. . . a 14-year veteran with Elco, suggested use of a rotating fixture to hold carbide die inserts while eroding a hole in them by EDM." The same article states that this is "one of the largest suggestion pay-offs" in Elco's history.
