Fourteen employees pose in front of machines on the Greenlee Company floor located at 2136 12th St. in Rockford IL. The 1960 city directory states, "Greenlee has been a member of the Rockford community since 1904 when they moved here from Chicago where they were founded in 1866 . . . Today the main plant occupies a 29 acre tract of land and employs more than 1400 people . . . Greenlee's products [include] machines for metalworking, woodworking, foundry and die casting. Mortising and boring tools, hand tools for woodworking, tools for electricians, pipe fitters and plumbers complete the Greenlee line."
