Description
William "Bill " Allington, born October 26, 1900 in St. Clair, MI, managed the Rockford Peaches from 1944 to 1946 and again from 1948 to 1952. Allington, a good teacher and tough taskmaster, was also a stickler for rules, often giving his players pop quizzes during practices and bus rides to away games. His Rockford Peaches won the AAGPBL Championships in 1945, 1948, 1949, and 1950. Allington passed away on August 17, 1966.
