This photograph, looking southwest, captures the Rockford Military Band and a large group of Rockford Police Officers awaiting President Theodore Roosevelt at the Illinois Central Train Depot on South Main Street. The President dedicated the new Memorial Hall at 211 North Main Street. Over 50,000 Rockfordians showed up for Roosevelt's visit. (Reference - Sinnissippi Saga, page 311.)
