Description
An account of the resource
The three-story structure (left) boasts two distinct signs: "W. D. Trahern" on the building's left side, and "Iron Works" on the right. The edifice, located on S. Main St. in Rockford's Water Power District along the Rock River, appears to have been erected in 1878 according to the inscription at the top center of the building. A tall ladder leans against the left side of the structure while four men stand outside and another figure can be seen in an upper window (right). For an additional view, see photo 74.8.6.
