Description
An account of the resource
A man is depicted outside the Rockford Brass Works apparently in the snow. The company's foundry and machine shop were located at 704 Race St. in the Water Power District. The 1911 city directory states Rockford Brass Works as being "founders and finishers of brass, bronze and aluminum castings, jobbers of plumbers', gas and steamfitters' supplies." This photograph shows some of these supplies stacked in the yard. Overtop of the photo is printed "Rockford Iron Works." The back of the photo also mentions Rockford Iron Works, which was located at 642 Race St. Both companies were run by the Trahern family. For an additional view, see photo 74.595.104.
