A large group of men, and three boys standing at the top outside a window, pose in front of the Union Furniture Co., located at the intersection of 18th Ave. and 9th St. in Rockford IL. P. A. Peterson and Jonas Peters formed the company in 1875. Another founder, John Erlander, Peters' brother-in-law, is seated in a chair at front center wearing a dark hat and coat. A cabinet (left) and two tables (right) represent the company's products. The business closed in the mid-1930s.
