Helen "Swede" Sandiford (Nelson), sitting on the rail in the upper portion of the photograph, was a catcher for the Rockford Peaches in 1943. Marjorie "Pete" Peters (lower portion in photo), also known as Marge or Mackie, was a pitcher for the Peaches in 1943 and 1944. Helen, who was born June 13, 1919, passed away on February 6, 1993; Peters, born September 11, 1918, died April 1, 2016.
